Lesson 2: About Victoria and District Municipalities

North Saanich

Further north of Central Saanich and Sidney is this rural-residential municipality. Because it's located at the northern tip of Saanich peninsula, residents enjoy the beaches and marine activities on three shores. The main thoroughfare is Pat Bay Highways which goes right into Victoria.

This is the transportation hub of Vancouver Island with the International Airport and BC Ferry Terminal. Residents get the best of worlds, a rural setting and a short commute to downtown Victoria. People who arrive by pleasure boat will find the highest concentration of marinas on Vancouver Island.

There are several parks and beaches in this area plus a great opportunity to see marine life in a tranquil setting.

For more information on North Saanich, please look at the British Columbia.com website.
