Victoria BC TourismLesson 2: About Victoria and District MunicipalitiesMetchosinThis farming area was incorporated as a district in 1984 in order to preserve the rural lifestyle. A trip to Metchosin is an escape from both urban and suburban life. There are very few residential areas, but plenty of farms. There are several coastal beaches and trails where there are lush forests and an opportunity to view marine life. Metchosin has two lagoons that serve as wildlife sanctuaries. Many of the locals visit the Farmer's Market on Sundays during the spring and summer to buy fruits and vegetables from the farms in the area. The numerous regional parks attract hikers, cyclists, naturalists and beach enthusiasts. For more information on Metchosin, please look at the British Columbia.com website.
