Victoria BC TourismLesson 2: About Victoria and District MunicipalitiesLangfordLocated northwest of Colwood, this is one of the newer districts with a growing population. It is mainly a bedroom community with a host of recreational facilities. Although it is not located on the saltwater, it has plenty of regional parks located around freshwater lakes and rivers. In fact, Langford has more parks than most of the neighboring communities. The terrain is hilly and mountainous in some areas, but a trip up to the various summits offers spectacular views of Victoria, the Strait of Juan de Fuca and the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State. The Trans Canada Highway goes through Langford, so there is easy access to Victoria to the east and up-island to the northwest. For more information on Langford, please look at the British Columbia.com website. LessonsLesson 1: Before You Leave Home Lesson 2: About Victoria and District Municipalities
