Consequences and Penalties for Non-Compliance
Objective(s):For participants to realize that there ARE potential consequences and penalties if they do not comply with the various regulations and standards.
Materials:Participant Pamphlet – pages xxx – xxx {Target URL placed here to specific section of pamphlet}
Instructions:
- Explain to participants that there are numerous possible consequences involved for people who either intentionally or unintentionally do not comply with the various standards or regulations.
- Explain that the primary consequence of non-compliance would be to cause exposure of their families to hazardous substances and therefore potentially causing someone in the family to become seriously ill.
- Penalties for non-compliance can be as severe as to require the eviction of their family from the residence for extreme violations.
- Discuss how knowing and understanding their role and responsibilities will help them in avoiding the potential health consequences or possible penalties.
- Ask the group in the discussion area to identify what they think they can do to prevent any of these consequences or penalties from occurring.
- Discuss items as they are identified by group members.
