Lesson 4: Coping with the After-effects

In our final lesson, we’ll be looking at the after-effects of Prostate Cancer and its treatments. The lesson will focus on coping with these after-effects, and what you can do to help yourself, and your family members, get through these often difficult situations. At the end of this lesson, you can expect to have a greater understanding of situations that may arise after your treatment is done and you’re on the road to recovery. By being aware of these situations, you will be better equipped to handle them, should the need arise.

Introduction

You’ve been through what feels like the longest period in your life. You’ve had countless doctor’s appointments, you know more than you ever wanted to know about that little walnut-sized prostate of yours, and you’ve been through one or more of the treatments we discussed in the last lesson.

Now what? There are still issues that you might have to deal with, possibly for quite some time. In this final lesson, we’re going to look at the following issues, and discuss some options for dealing with these issues:
