Lesson 8: Summary.

Footnote:

St. Gregory the Great: Collected the melodies and plain chant so associated with him that they are now known as Gregorian Chants. One of the four great Doctors of the Latin Church. Wrote seminal works on the Mass and Office.

Section 8-1: Testing.

Testing to determine whether you have enhanced your writing performance is, to me, a moot point. The lesson series is arranged to test-so I have interjected tests with each lesson. Certainly if you got all the tests completed with full accuracy the material presented has been ingrained in your memory. If not, then revisiting the lessons until you feel they are fully understood would not be a bad idea.

Basically, if you have scored 91 to 100 % accuracy then you have received an A on this course. If you have scored 81 to 90 % then you have received a B on this course. If you have scored 71 to 80 % then you have received a C on this course. If you have scored 61 to 70 % then you have received a D on this course. Anything below a 60 means you were preoccupied and should revisit the material.

I am interested in learning what your test results are, so I will visit the test center to determine whether the material is prepared in a way that is easily understood. If everyone has a low score, that, of course, is instructor error.

The third edition of Creating Writers Through 6-Trait Writing Assessment and Instruction presents highly adaptable assessment models to identify good writing qualities. The focus of this publication is assessment and revision. This book provides criteria demonstrating what students must do to succeed. Numerous writing samples exhibit the evolution of the writing process from draft formats to final versions.
