This lesson outlines ways to increase your book club membership and how to retain the members you already have. The lesson also provides great tips on how to promote your club through newsletters and eNewsletters to spread the word of your love of books.
Increase membership with effective marketing
How do you increase memberships? Simple. Effective marketing is the key to achieve this intiative, so you should initiate these measures: 1. Design flyers detailing the literary focus of the club. 2. Leave stacks of the flyers at libraries, bookstores, university bookstores and the break room at your job. 3. Send out an email to a massive email list of your family and friends. 4. Ask them to spread the word about your club. 5. Tell your neighbors and instruct them to tell any friends who might be interested. 6. Go to your most favorite and fine dining restaurant to see if you can leave your press release on the counter to encourage customers to join. 7. Attend poetry readings. Get to know the poets that perform and the owners of the establishments to present and help advertise your club. Let's proceed to the next exercise: “Developing a newsletter to promote your book club.”
