Lesson 4: Kick-off
How did you do?
Once you're in business, working, satisfying your customers, earning your pay, it's time to look back and review what you set out to do and how well you accomplished it. You had certain goals which got you interested in starting your own small business. Then you set out to actually start one and now you've done it. How close are you to what you set out to do?
- Do you enjoy what you're doing? That was one of the original criteria when you started out. Did you end up with the work you planned to carry out?
- Do you do your work well? That was another of the original criteria. Is it satisfied?
- Did your target groups behave as expected? Were they in fact easily accessible to you and did some members become customers?
- Did you spend what you expected on starting up and do you still have reserve financing for large orders or expansion?
- Are you happy with the type of business structure you chose?
- Do your name and logo work in your target markets?
- Is your place of business working the way you want it to?
- Are you keeping track of your prospects and your customers?
- Do you have a plan in place to let you achieve the goals you set for yourself?
You want to ask these questions now, when you're still at the beginning of your new venture because now there is still time to go back and make some changes if you're not where you want to be or if you can't see yourself achieving your goals.More likely, if you followed the steps of this course, you'll be able to answer yes to the above questions. You'll be pretty close to where you wanted, expected and planned to be and busy building something of value while having fun doing it.
