Fibromyalgia

Energetic Remedies

Energetic Remedies include acupuncture, acupressure, as well as many lesser-known therapies. Acupuncture and acupressure are old Chinese remedies that are based on the concept of energy (chi) flowing freely through the body's passages. Using needles (acupuncture) or pressure (acupressure) the therapist diverts the flow of energy through these passages in a more beneficial direction. While the basic concept may be difficult for the Western mind to comprehend, the results for fibro sufferers are often amazing. If choosing an acupuncturist make sure he or she is certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupunctural and Oriental Medicine. Acupressurists are not licensed, but the American Association of Oriental Medicine can help you to locate a trained specialist in your area.

Be aware, though, that while the results are impressive they are temporary. One visit will not eliminate pain from your life. You will need continued treatment.
