Lesson 5: Treatments: Traditional MedicineHome ProjectMany of us have an entire arsenal of medicines that we take either regularly or as needed. In addition to prescriptions we may take regular aspririn or ibuprofen, maybe an over the counter allergy pill, herbal supplements and more. And many of us are getting prescriptions from more than one doctor and may not have told them all what else we are taking. But drugs (and herbal supplements and over the counter pills) can have adverse reactions. You want to check carefully to make sure that something that you are taking isn't hurting as much or more than it helps. SO - I want you to make a list of everything you take - whether every day or as needed - herbs, OTC and prescription medicines. Then go to this Drug Interaction Checker and enter your list to see what the results are for you. If you have difficulty reaching that site, here is another Interaction check but it isn't as detailed or complete. Still, it will serve yo warn you of potential problems you may be creating with your meds. |
