Additional Resources

Here are a few websites that will give you some help with finding a good doctor. These are by no means exhaustive but may prove to be a good starting point. In some cases, if you have a good doctor you can recommend him or her and they can be added to the list.

  • Co-Cure's Fibro and CFM Good Doc List
  • Find a Doctor Patient Referrals.
  • For those of you in England, Ask the Doctor is a new resource that lets you listen to an FMS expert on the following topics:How to get your GP on your side - the insider's guide to getting the most from your Doctor

    Doctor Patient Communication

    • Chart your pain - that way you will know exactly what to report when describing your condition to your health practitioner. This site offers a self-graphing pain chart that will show you when you flare and when things settle down. Note: You'll need Adobe Acrobat to use this chart
    • Pain Scale - the ten entries here describe pain graphically on a scale of one to ten. It will not only help you to gauge your pain in some measurable way, but will be a great help when you describe to to your doctor.
