Jewish Law
Halacha, or Jewish Law, provides the foundation to Jewish tradition. It is what determines what Orthodox Jews do (and don't do) on Shabbat, what holidays are considered days of rest, and how Jews prepare their food. Just about every aspect of Jewish life is determined by halacha, much of which was determined thousands of years ago by great sages such as Maimonides, Rashi and Yosef Karo.
This section explores topics ranging from the significance of the ancient 613 Jewish laws, to the traditions surrounding animal slaughter. It also contains a number of news articles that relate to halacha and recent challenges that have taken place.
The articles under Jewish Law are continually expanding, so check back frequently for new material!
