Historical Archives
All of life is generally recorded. Birth notices, death notices, marriage notices, school documentation, military service, work history, national insurance information - all of life is there.
For more specialised research, there are local and national archives where community history may be uncovered. Nowadays, the internet is a powerful tool for researching history and society, taking care to access peer-reviewed websites. Books, the traditional medium of research, should not be forgotten. Census data provides the social history of a community. None of us is anonymous and no important event in our history has gone unrecorded. Happy hunting!
