» Satirie - Thanks, Traute!

Thanks for pointing us in the direction of this course. It even sounds as if it will be beneficial to those not planning on becoming copyeditors. In light of that, it certainly might be worth checking out.

You're a good guide, Traute. I appreciate the links you post. :-)

Thank you, Traute, for an objective and intelligent analysis of the course! Suite101 is always looking for additional copyeditors and I hope editors who are interested (and have been featured writers for at least 3 months) will take the course.

Hilary Williams (hilside@brainstew.com) is the Manager of the copyediting team, and will be happy to answer any other questions you might have about being a CpE.

» biogardener - Telling it like it is

You are right. When I recommend a course, it is worth taking. I am a teacher, and I have trained other teachers. When I tackle a course, I first ask myself, "Is the course developer a good teacher?" If my answer is no, I won't recommend it, i.e. I won't even write a review.

Of the 7 SuiteU courses which I have worked on, I am happy to recommend 6. The 7th I could not honestly recommend to my readers without compromising my reputation as a teacher. That is all right. After all, Doug Loblaw guaranteed 100% satisfaction. So if I am not satisfied, I am not required to pretend that I am.

You have been busy. Thanks for the review. I'll have to read your other reviews soon.

Thanks, too, for the positive response to "Taking Back the Suite." I appreciate you!

I was going to post this myself, but I see Barbara beat me to it. So, yeah, what she said. smile Oh, except my email address is mailto:hil@brainstew.com, just to clarify.

» biogardener - Hilary Williams

I met Hilary Williams some time ago, because she was copyeditor for one of my topics. She is a most interesting person coping with a disability and making the most of her life. Hop over to her profile page to let it inspire you.

And when you are done reading, you may want to encourage her by posting a message in the thread I started in her topic discussions, "Your Profile."

» biogardener - Article Formatting Problem

I apologize for the distorted formatting in this article. It appeared only a couple of days ago. I first noticed it in one of my articles 6 months ago and it has now spread to many Suite101 articles to the point where people are alarmed about it. No one seems to know what is causing it. Hopefully HO will be able to analyze and correct the problem.

PS: Yes, the formatting problems did get corrected by HO after loud complaints by several writers whose articles were affected.
