Your right about vines being able to add vertical depth to a garden, and there's also something about a vine that suggests lushness and vigor.

This year, I am using sweet peas is several different places, both the regular and dwarf versions. Your list of annual vines had some interesting suggestions as well. Will have to see which of those might grow here in my region.

I'm glad you enjoyed the vines article.

Sweet peas are a favorite annual vine for me, but unfortunately they won't bloom as long if you live in an area with really hot summers. They also need ample water if you're in a dry spell.

Morning glories are one of my favorites. However, in some regions, these vines can become quite aggressive. I saw an article in one garden magazine that said that Arizona is one place where morning glory seed is forbidden, since it has a reputation for being an aggressive weed there.

Good luck with your sweet peas!
