Its a great idea Jerri! Here in Florida, rainlilies, zephyranthes species are a wonderful bulb that blooms year round in Florida and does very well in full sun or partial shade. Now is a good time to refrigerate bulbs like narcissus, crocus, tulips, and hyacinths for early spring blooms. You can even plant Florida daffodil varieties that naturalize themselves and come back year after year. Great idea. Could you provide a source for people who may be interested in obtaining some rainlily bulbs of their own?

I discovered this idea quite by accident. A few years ago, I had some leftover bulbs that I didn't know what to do with. So I arbitrarily planted some underneath some arborvitae shrubs in my front garden. What a suprise I got in the spring! The light-green color of the arborvitae served as a stunning backdrop for the rich hues of the hyacinths I planted underneath.
