» jerrib - I always wonder

why folks plant trees so close to their houses. They somehow don't imagine they will grow large at some point. For those folks, dwarf trees are a good idea.

In response to I always wonder posted by jerrib:

are slowly becoming dwarf conifers smile I use to think that their small sizes, wierd shapes and abundance of colors were kind of creepy. However, more and more I value the interest they give, when wisely used, to home landscapes. As Jerri points out proportion and attention to planting distances is so... important.

Also important when planting any kind of tree going into autumn and winter is a good supply of water in the plant and in the soil around the newly established roots.
