Great Idea! Now do you have a contest for writers who are not published? Limiting your contest to already published authors seems counterproductive to me. The point of most contests is to encourage people to write and get their material seen by people who can critique their work and give UN-published authors a chance for publication. By limiting your contest to already published authors you are actually discouraging those authors who would benefit most from it. I feel the fair thing to do is open the contest to anybody who writes science fiction, published or not, otherwise you create a Catch-22 environment where the only way a writer can get a chance to be published is to already be published.
