Research
This archived discussion is "read only".
» HookSampson - Research I am approaching the end of a rough draft of my first novel. It required significantly more research than I thought. The story is loosely based on a true story. After doing all of this research, I started to think that you never see a bibliography or resources in a work of fiction. Could this be a bit tricky? Have there ever been cases where a non-fiction writer accuses a fiction writer of lifting material? For example, could a non-fiction writer say . . . Hmmmm . . . this fictitious town sound an awfully lot like a real town described in this magazine article. I did not lift a thing. However, I did study numerous factual articles and books on the topic that I wrote about. Are there ever such accusations? If the book is clearly fiction, do such accusations have merit. This is my first book, I want to be very careful about that type of thing.-- posted by HookSampson
