» Yee - Dry Spell

Cynthia,
You said that you hit a dry spell in the mid-1990's. What did you mean by that? Did the ideas just stop coming? And did pursuing different kinds of writing kick-start the creative juices again?

In response to Dry Spell posted by Yee:

The "dry spell" was partly a result of changes in the marketplace -- meaning the big publishers lost interest in publishing books by "mid-list authors," or authors whose books sell well but not fabulously well -- and a personal dry spell. I'd written over 40 books in 15 years and I think I was just burned out. At that time, I tried writing different kinds of books, but it wasn't until I tried writing a mystery that I got the old enthusiasm back!
