Journaling Keeps The Juices FlowingRead the article this discussion is about

» VMTWriter - I love my journal I don't know what I would do if I didn't keep a journal. It is my best friend. I tell it all about my days, my hopes, dreams, it absorbs my ups and my downs. I keeps my secrets and my wishes. It listens to me when I want to rant. I've been keeping journals for many, many years. Writing in my journal is as natural as eating breakfast or brushing my teeth. It calls to me at times when I've become busy and haven't "purged" my thoughts. My journal is my link to immortality.-- posted by VMTWriter

Thank you for this article! -- posted by Jennifer Hollowell » RoxianneM - Re: Journaling has always been like breathing for me. In response to message posted by Poemwriter1:I couldn't agree more. Though I have to admit I've been neglecting my own journal. It's been a lifesaver at times, but I seem to let it slide when I'm stressed out. A shame, really, since it's just what I need most. -- posted by RoxianneM » fedUp - Re: I love my journal In response to message posted by VMTWriter:I try to keep a journal but over the years i have been finding it harder to articulate my thoughts, and find that once I have written it down I think its stupid and dont like re reading what ive written. Also over the years i have changed my journal so many times I cant keep track of them anymore. It seems its a reflection of myself, scattered and unsure. But i do realise its important to keep one and have ben making efforts to keep it recently. thank you for poining out its impotance to you and helping me to go about restarting mine - again! -- posted by fedUp » RoxianneM - Re: Re: I love my journal In response to message posted by fedUp:The New Year & new millennium are good incentives to start a journal and resolve to keep at it. I try to keep in mind Natalie Goldberg's advice that what we write in our journals is merely practice. The intent is twofold: to empty our minds of daily garbage, and to keep our writing muscles in good shape. I, too, have so many journals and styles that I can't keep track of them. But that's not really the point, is it? So this year, I resolve to do better at keeping my own journal, which has been neglected for weeks, and to keep up with my writing practice. I'll use whatever notebook or fancy journal I feel like using that month, and try once again to get into the habit of filling one notebook a month with my "journal." -- posted by RoxianneM » Diariest - Re: I love my journal In response to I love my journal posted by VMTWriter:
