I really enjoyed your article. I've been a home-based medical transcriptionist and wannabe writer for about 10 years, and people do not realize that it's a "real" job, that it requires certain skills and education, and that it's hard work. Also, I learned the hard way after the birth of my first child that it's almost impossible to put in a productive day at the "home office" with the kids at home. They can only entertain themselves for so long.
That's why I gave up a very profitable full-time business for a semi-retired one. Now I know where to refer the next person who asks me about starting an in-home business. Karen Ledbetter
