deceitful man (or women) will "clear his or her throat, fidget in the chair, touch his nose
lightly, touch his mouth, tug his ear or rub his eye."

I must seem deceitful. I am shy, so I hate to maintain eye contact. I also tend to be nervous around people, so I fidget :-)

Since I'm shy and I think there are more shy people than we know, I try not to judge quickly. I have to admit, deceitful is not the first thing I think when someone shifts positions, etc. Imagine my shock after high school, struggling through major "shy attacks" and learning that many thought I was "stuck up." I prefer to think of myself as reserved now. And I even participated in theatre, and have read of many performers who say they are shy. So, I don't think we can make such quick judgments.
