Early Dictionaries

» queen10 - Dictionaries I have a very old dictionary, it was devised by 6 American professors. it is so big and heavy and was made to be put on a desk and not moved because it was so heavy, I worked for a very old firm of solicitors and it was about to be thrown out as it had been kept in a cellar and the outer covers were water marked because from time to time the cellar was flooded at high tide from the River Hull nearby, it must weigh about 3 stone and yet the pages are so thin they are like tissue paper, the cellar it was taken from was in a building in the old part of Hull so it could be years old, I would like to know a bit more about it if anybody is interested. Kind regards Margaret Southcoat.-- posted by queen10
