Good morning, I am looking for advice to stop or relieve redness of the eye. I understand that an ample amount of rest and not smoking cigarettes are preventive measures for maintaining good eye health and a certain redness reliever, however are there any other methods for relieving the eye? I have tried every over-the-counter eye drop, to no avail. Help!!!-- posted by slynch3

In response to message posted by slynch3:You don't say whether or not your eye problems are related to thyroid disease. Have you consulted an eye specialist? Most agree that artificial tears without preservatives are the best for frequent use. The old remedies like placing cucumber slices or wet tea bags on the closed eyelids and resting for ten to fifteen minutes can also be very soothing.
