» kdoster703 - You do what you can as a mother I am a 24 year old mother of a 21 month old son. I am a registered nurse and love my job. Although I would love to stay at home with my son, financially that is not an option for me and my husband. I think there are benefits to both working moms and stay at home moms.I don't think whether you work or not should mold how good a mother you are. Either way, you and your children learn to grow and work through life together, the best way you both know how.Sincerely, Kristin Doster of Athens, Georgia -- posted by kdoster703 » kpool73 - SAHM, Working Moms or WAHM I am currently a 33 year old work from home mother from NJ. I have a set of 5 year old boy/girl twins (one who is autistic). I left my job 5 years ago to stay home with my twins. It was an easy decision for me, because I wanted to be with them all the time...I wanted to be the first face they saw in the morning and the last face they saw at night. I did not work for the first year of their lives. However I did get a job (from home)after they turned 1. I have been working from home ever since. I think it is really sad that mothers would make each other feel guilty about this issue. I believe that a child can be loved, nutured and strengthened by a mom who works or doesn't work, or chooses to do both from home. Ultimately, I think our goal is the same....to raise children with good moral values, independent, loving, strong, confident...the list can go on and on. I think we need to stop attacking each other and instead focus that energy on being the best mothers we can be....and if that means staying home with them 24/7, or having to juggle working at home and raising them at the same time too, or having to go to work because financially you need to, or just because you enjoy the work force..then sobeit. With all the horrible things that are happening to children every day (e.g. children being abused, murdered, kidnapped, neglected, falling through the cracks in the child welfare systems)I think we should be thankful that there are mothers out there that love their kids...and will do anything for them....even if it means staying home or going to work!!!!karol G., NJ -- posted by kpool73
