» Red - great article...
Katie,You've given me some great ideas for day trips with the boys. This area is steeped in history. The Native Poetess, Pauline Johnson, lived about a half mile from where I grew up. It's a 20 minute drive from here. It is a great place to visit and I haven't been there since I was a kid. They have done lots of renovations and I would like to see it.
The Bell Homestead, where Alexander Graham Bell and his parents lived when they first came to Canada is about a 10 minute drive. That's another one that I haven't visited in a while. Plus, the Brant Crossing, where Joseph Brant crossed the river when he started the settlement here. Then there is Kanata, the living history Indian village. We can have some great fun this summer, thanks to your suggestions.
I thoroughly enjoyed the article. Looking forward to the next one.
Mary
