Marriage & Menopause

» mnflower - What he thinks. I am just getting into the joys of menopause: mood swings, irritability, all the fun. When I tried to discuss it with my admittedly self -centered husband, he reacted like I have the plague, and stated "it makes me feel old." I don't know what to do to help him understand. I'm seeking medical help for my rather awful mood swings. Any advice?-- posted by mnflower » Tdn - Re: What he thinks. In response to What he thinks. posted by mnflower:What he thinks is probably not as important as what you think. Menopause is more than annoying mood swings, it is a time when the blinders come off and we look at what we've been putting up with in self-centered husbands.... I find this period in life to be a time to redefine old patterns and create new ones... self centered husband in my world is grumbling through having to grow up because the minute I change my behaviour (as in changing old patterns) he has no choice but to change his own ways because they simply don't work on me anymore... its not easy but it feels good to look into the future with renewed hope and be in control of ones own self .... -- posted by Tdn
