I never thought of any of our Great Lakes states as having any prairie history until Nature Conservancy material told about preserving and restoring prairie in Michigan -- our southwest corner, I think. Now that awareness is growing, efforts are growing, and maybe your "silver lining" story could be repeated for other closed bases. Thank you for informing us.
