Butterflies will just work over an echinacea 'cone' for the LONGEST time, what a sight. And actually, the flowers, leaves and seeds are ALSO used medicinally, but more as an immune system TONIC whereas the root (particularly prepared as a tincture) is an immune-system STIMULANT (making it unsuitable for folks with compromised immune systems already)

I've not lived anywhere long enough to really and truly get Echinacea ESTABLISHED and flourishing, but I have actually heard some people complain that it is taking over their yard! (I should HAVE such luck!)
