» Renie_Burghardt - Enjoyed

your article about the cutest little critters around. Yep, I love chipmunks, and they are everywhere in my neck of the woods. I raised a baby one a couple of years ago, that the cat dragged in live! He made it just fine, and I think of him often, and hope he is still out there, enjoying his chipmunk life. Thank you for all the information about these charming creatures.

» LadyB - Cute to a POINT!!!!

Of all the wild things I hang out with, these characters just get the best of me ALL the time. Last season I caught them climbing up my gorgeous silky black hollyhocks and yanking off the buds and THROWING them at each other! I went out howling and hollering and they all scampered down, but I swear I could hear the stifled giggling. Once I walked past they were at it again. (sigh)

When I worked at a large plant nursery and had planted an entire crop of lily bulbs in pots and had them all JUST ready to bloom and sell, these moving bits of furry tiger-eye would zip up the stalks, hang from the flower stems by their front paws, and I SWEAR....kick the buds off with their back feet and then run off with them. I was starting to look like Bill Murray going after the groundhog......They won. Of course they won, they're chipmunks.......LadyB
