Oh yes. The orange groves are still in those areas. Love to smell those orangeblossoms! The berries are primarily in Plant City which is about a 20-minute drive from Tampa.

The Strawberry Festival is coming up in very soon and they'll have every concoction you can come up with using the strawberry!

If you like animals, be sure and visit the Wild Kingdom. It's terrific. My favorite was standing so close to that silverback. He was magnificent. Something I would have never had a chance to do without Disney. I've seen them in the Toronto Zoo, but there they are behind bars. At Disney, they are roaming in the wild.

I hope to make it to the festival this year. My mom and I picked strawberries one year. What a job! I discovered muscles I never knew existed after all that bending and stooping but the strawberry jam my mom made was worth the effort. smile

I hope you do make it to the festival. That would be awesome. We have many festivals in this area during June, which is when our strawberries ripen.

Each year, the boys, Mom and I go picking strawberries. If you want some delicious recipes, take a look here.

BTW, thanks for posting the photo of the Tree of Life. It's awesome, isn't it? I marveled at the beauty of it. I'd like to learn more about it. It was one of the highlights of the day.

What a wonderful trip! Getting that close to Silverback Gorillas is reason enough to go. Wow!!
I'm with the boys on the bug exhibit - Although I realize the importance of bugs, I like dragon flies, butterflies, moths, and perhaps one or two others that I can't think of right now. As for the rest I would rather keep my distance. LOL
