Thanks for the heads-up on this one, Vickie. As part of the Great Lakes watershed, I have to be concerned about sightings there, but it's a relief that the one in Burnham Harbor seems to be solitary. The links were informative. And agreed, at first reading, it looks like a hoax, but I think CNN would be especially careful about that.

I'm glad it was a useful article. smile I had heard just a snippet about the snakehead fish on my local news. You know that "teaser" they do to get you interested and then tell you to check in at NEWS at 11 for the complete story. smile

Snake head sighting in the great lakes, lets hope not.These fish are a wonderful food fish but are mean and nasty beyond belief.Yes they will go after humans after they reach a certain size and they have the teeth to do conciderable damage. I had a three foot one and his teeth were razor sharp, he was given to me after he caused a lot of damage in a local pet store.I believe that the snake head wont last that long in the great lakes they need a wee bit warmer climate like Florida!But then again look how parts of the south got over run with the clarien cat fish or the walking cat fish. People need to learn how to conserve the enviroment not destroy it!
