great article, Gregg. One person's wildflower is another's exotic. Lovely photos too

But it was a great trip and you found some new beauties. I just know this is going to mean a book someday. Enjoy the photos and your writing, as usual.

Was out last week and found Trillium underwoodii and Hexastylis arifolia (Little brown Jug) in abundance. Also noted Aesculus pavia (red buckeye) and Cardamine sp. and others. Just thought I'd give a little southern flavor to this group. Will report more later.

Hi Gary,

Glad ya enjoyed it. Yeah, I even adore dandelions and chicory, the bane of suburbanites (of course, that may just be the anarchy in me).

We just got back from a southern California wildflower drive, and I just know no one noticed the many varieties of lupine all over the place. I was the only one pullin' over, takin' photos!

Yeah...another great California adventure, but doo doo compared to what we just got home from...

Joshua Tree...Sequoia and Yosemite Nat'l Parks...and oodles upon oodles of wildflowers.

And of course, it'll all be written about here in a couple weeks after I pay off the 15 rolls of film I shot...

Lots o' snow melt here, thank god. I am hungry for spring.

Hi Carex,

Trilliums are always so much fun to find...or rather to happen upon. I hope I get to see some "new" species out here.

...and I am writing about Trillum now, to be "published" in a couple weeks...and then lots about a southern California wildflower drive we just got home from...

Let us know what else ya see!
