» Lisa_Pardy - Was it censorship? Or editorial discretion?

What do you think? Was Clark right to assure advertising execs that Janney's remarks would be excised from the final version of the award show? Is it legitimate for producers and directors (and for that matter, editors and publishers) to extend their editorial power to include removing unpleasant or controversial opinions? And is such editing, even when done for small-p political purposes, qualify as "censorship" if speakers have alternative platforms from which to express their opinions?
