» jerrib - Wow! What refreshing writing! I really enjoyed reading your article.I have garden pages on my personal website (I do garden some), but I have to admit I have always been intrigued by wildflowers - even as a kid. I remember taking in the the nectar of wildflowers as I was playing in the surrounding neighborhood of our country home - heaven! Yesterday I bought a St. John's Wort at the Farmer's Market and it is so beautiful. How interesting you should mention it. I bought it because I liked the pink on the leaves and what look to be pink flowers. -- posted by jerrib » LadyB - Jerri, so glad you enjoyed it! Now, while I have to say I've never seen a St. John's wort with pink leaves OR flowers, I won't argue with someone from Washington State where your slugs can beat up our slugs ANY DAY.I have an ancient treasure of a T-shirt with a whole chorus line of gooey, eye-ball-y slugs on it that says "ENJOY WASHINGTON WEATHER....TEN MILLION SLUGS CAN'T BE WRONG"...One of my faves...DEFINITELY one of my faves...... -- posted by LadyB » scuba_steve - Summer Solstice and Meadows Barbara,I did a Suite101 search on Summer Solstice because I wanted to find an article that would help put me in the proper frame of mind for this occasion. Your article was exactly what I was looking for. A meadow in summer is beautiful and your wonderful imagery allowed me to imagine myself in your meadow on this 1st day of summer. I enjoyed the article very much! -- posted by scuba_steve
