» MelWhite - Timely article!!

I was just reading a book on menopause and pre-menopause and herbs and the recommendation on oats couldn't come at a more timely moment!

Herb store, here I come!

» LadyB - Ah yes, my dear.....

Menopause need not be 'the end' at ALL......Play it right and it's THE BEGINNING.

And remember-- it's not a Hot Flash, it's a POWER SURGE.

(and we wonder why that Quaker Oats guy is SMILIN'.......)

» MaggieM - Oats, eh?

I've planted oat seeds for my cat - he loves to nibble on the suculent green stems. Maybe I should chow down with him! We really like oatmeal soap in htis house, hope Jack the Bear iss absorbing all that lather.

» LadyB - I grew some oats...

....here in the vegetable garden two years ago. We sort of scattered them as a 'cover crop' *beep* BAD idea. Well GREAT idea for the starlings, but not so good for us. You really have to COVER the seed outdoors! I did tincture some of the tops (which makes a grand 'nerve nourisher' - whatever extracurricular benefits happen are icing on the proverbial cake). And I also DRIED some of the tops for dried arrangements. They are virtually indestructable as dried flowers, give a GREAT texture and are blue/grey when they're fresh and then bleach out to a very pale blonde color. They look really WONDERFUL with other grasses.

Hmmm. Oatmeal soap....aren't we getting clever here! And Jack the Bear thinks he's just takin' another shower......Can't figure out why Maggie's standing there with a towel and smile.......dontcha just LOVE it!

» SirBosWife - Happy Valentine's Day!

Woke up this morning and fixed Sir Bo his oatmeal for breakfast! Nice beginning to my favorite day of the year. Then we had a wonderful dinner, with lots of love and family time. What a wonderful day!

» Gay_Klok - Oatmeal

I used to use oatmeal soap for my teen-ager spots, kind of scratchy. A bit of mental pursasion, I think. The poor sufferer thought they were scraping them away. We have oatmeal for breakfast every morning down at the farm
