Glad to have you visit. I didn't realize you haven't been over to visit yet. This really is quite a story, isn't it? I think spousal abuse has gone on forever, but we are just aware of it more. This was a tragedy, for sure. And your event is a good way to bring this problem to light at the Suite. Please do come again! -- posted by jerrib » vivavoce - Definitely Coming Back and ... In response to message posted by jerrib:Thanks for such a warm welcome, Jerri. Yes, I'm definitely coming back. After I got lost from all of the dazzle you've got available here, I nosed into your [what else?] Employment links. You've got a link coming up on Career and Executive Recruiting Advice. Then I'll come back for another cup of Seattle Jo and spend some time learning about the state. Thanks for being so patient with me. -- posted by vivavoce » Naomi_Mathews - A totally "frightening" tale . . . Oh my goodness, Jerri! I have never been to Crescent Lake that I recall, although we have been to the Rain Forest but it's been some years ago. After reading your article about "Lady of the Lake" -- I don't think I want to go there ever! Your very "descriptive" writing about those fisherman finding the body of that poor lady literally gave me cold chills.I don't blame you for not liking Crescent Lake -- in spite of it's beauty! -- posted by Naomi_Mathews » jerrib - Re: A totally "frightening" tale . . . In response to message posted by Naomi_Mathews:Haunting tale aside, Naomi, it really is a beautiful lake. If you've been to the rain forest and went through Port Angeles to get there, then you drove by Lake Crescent. You would remember the deep, beautiful blue and the closeness of the road in places to the lake. It really is a horrible story and one I was curious to know about for years. The research taught me all I want to know now or ever! Thanks for stopping in, again! -- posted by jerrib » jerrib - Re: Lady in the Lake In response to message posted by dequizq:Donna: I thought I'd come back and answer your question in a little more detail. The researching, that is. My family has a newspaper clipping from the trial with a photo of my grandmother. I also grew up in Port Angeles so I know there's a regional and a local library. They both have information, as does the local newspaper. There have been several books written, the most recent being The Lady of the Lake by Mavis Amundson. Check out the link at the bottom of the article, too, to find another writer's article on this. Anyway, when it comes to Washington State and anything that's gone on or is going on - my resources are very abundant. We have a state library that's excellent, many genealogy libraries, historical societies. Washington is also a very computer-literate state, so there's a lot of information to garner. Hope that answered your question. A little late! -- posted by jerrib » dequizq - Re: Re: Lady in the Lake In response to message posted by jerrib:Ahah...you have the inside scoop. What makes this story so fun is that we all have our Lady of the Lake stories no matter where we live. Also, makes a statement regarding life and some of the things that shorten it. I feel so blessed being in the Suite101 numbers with such talent abounding in each site. Thank you for thinking to answer me, no matter the timeliness.
