Tina -- posted by Tina_Coruth » Dubh_Sidhe - Bavarian Village Oh, this is super! I had a great visit and thank you so much. What a great place to go.There is a Bavarian Village in Northeast Georgia at Helen, Georgia and a couple of hours from me. The similarity is there as are the dollar signs! LOL! I would really love to visit yours in real time. I have always wanted a cukoo (sp) clock from the Black Forest. Thanks for the treat, Jeri. Happy Memorial Day week end to you. -- posted by Dubh_Sidhe » jerrib - Re: Bavarian Village In response to message posted by Dubh_Sidhe:I'd love to see yours, too, Virginia. I think a cuckoo clock would drive me bananas; I already have a bird clock that gets on my nerve sometimes! But cuckoo clocks are neat and I can see why they are popular. I know what you mean about $ - tourist theme-towns are for attracting those! But it's fun to look anyway. Hope you're having a great week-end. Hope you do make it here to take the North Cascades Highway loop and visit Leavenworth. It's worth the stop. Glad to have you visit Jerri -- posted by jerrib » Peggy_Kord - Hope to Vist! I have an aunt that lives in Sequim? I have no idea where in Washington it is located. It seems like such a beautiful state! Thanks for your "new grandma" wishes! Peg -- posted by Peggy_Kord » jerrib - Re: Hope to Vist! In response to message posted by Peggy_Kord:You're welcome, Peggy. There's nothing more satisfying than grandparenting, in my book! Sequim is 18 miles southeast of Port Angeles on the Olympic Peninsula - the northwest part of the state. I grew up in Port Angeles. It's a popular place for retirees as the rainfall is only 17-inches-a-year, the lowest for western Washington. It's also sunny a lot more. There's a lot of speculation going on right now about a new "housing venture" going up in a gated community on Lost Mountain nearby - speculation is it's a community for the "famous!" Who knows. Anyway, you grandma is lucky to live there. Jerri -- posted by jerrib « Previous 1 2 3 Next » Please follow the guidelines set forth in the Suite101 Posting Etiquette when adding to the discussion. |
