» jerrib - Good Questions

Yakama is the spelling the tribe (at Toppenish in E. WA) gave themselves ten years ago to distinguish themselves from the city Yakima and to define their tribe.

Chief Seattle's real name was Chief Sealth. He's an interesting figure and there's a lot of controversy even over his famous speech. I wrote about that a bit in one of my articles. The Seattle name, who knows - haven't researched it - readers?

Let me know the architect if you get a chance. It would be great to do a piece on him. I can imagine the museum next to the Space Museum. How neat. What a contrast.

Thanks for getting back to me.
