» jerrib - If you haven't been to Yakima

then you might want to go! It's a charming town, and has a lot to offer the traveler besides agriculture. Read the article to see where to go for great Mexican food, too!

Happy Reading!

» Renie_Burghardt - Yakima!

Well, Jerri, you have given us another interesting tour, with great photo's, as usual. It is neat that you actually visit these places that you write about. The Orchard Inn and Suites sounds like a great place to stay. And how interesting to learn about the French Gratitude Train! Many of us, who were victims of World War II, were most grateful for the donated food and clothing that came from the United States. How wonderful that France expressed their gratitude for it.

Your article on Yakima has made the town come alive. If I ever get there, The Yakima Area Arboretum would be a definite must see! Thanks for the tour, Jerri. I enjoyed it thoroughly!

» jerrib - Well, Renie

Good to have you stop by again. Your input is always great.

I do try to visit, and have visited, most of the towns I feature here. As I mentioned, it has been a while since I've been to Yakima. Featuring a city gives me time to update my mental pictures. It's always fun. Usually I try to stop at places I've not been to give myself a mental picture. And since Washington State is such a great place, it's always a pleasure to see more of it.

I was impressed with the Gratitude Train also. What a nice surprise in a city park! (It's one of the nicest city parks I have seen.) And you certainly know about the effects of war and what folks went through with your time in a war camp as a child.

Thanks for your comments.

» Tina_Coruth - Very interesting, Jerri.

Very interesting, Jerri. No, I had never heard of the French "Thank you" train. And the photos are great. I was especially taken with the first one -- the contrast between the old and new buildings is very nice.

Great article!

» Red - Jerri, another great...

article and I really enjoyed the photos and links.

I just have to get to Washington. You have introduced me to so many wonderful places there that I have to see them all. LOL I will probably have to visit a few times.

The Yakima Valley Museum sounds like an interesting place to visit and I would love to see the working soda fountain.

I had never heard of the Gratitude Train either and that was an intersting bit of information. I also would like to see the train depot. If these buildings could talk, what a story they would have to tell.

Thanks for another fantastic article. Sorry I was so late getting over here.

Thanks also for all your kindness and support in my time of tribulation.

I find it interesting you caught the significance of that photo - I was not sure many folks would. Glad you liked it. Made sense to me to put it there!

I really enjoy reading about your state, too.

Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy your visits anytime.

It's amazing how many things there are to see in this state. It's pretty culturally and physically diverse You can get from desert or agricultural country to the ocean or mountains in less than a day. I hope you do make it here someday. I'd love to meet you.

As for the emails. I enjoy chatting with you. And thanks for the writing link. I appreciate it.

I'll look forward to your next article!

And, I add, I am hosting an event soon - Fishing Around the World. Be thinking of a story; I'd love to have you participate.

All of you, actually. (Christina and Renie, too). Look for it soon!
