» max_read - City Board Games

Monopoly - like board games are available for various - sized cities. I found one worked well to heighten the city - reputation one of my libraries had. Because you raise money through ads and then buy the games from a supplier they provide you with everything you need in order to organize the project.

» Dalmaney - Fundraising

I know it might sound stupid, but we used to make tons of money ($500-1000) in one night with a combination pie bingo/cake auction. we borrowed the bingo cards and balls from another organization. each member was then responsible for a pie, decorated cake, or both. we sold the cards at the door for one price for the night. if you got a bingo, you won a pie. in the middle of the evening, the cakes were auctioned off. it was a great, kind of competitive way to get a donation - great when the people know each other. i guess is might be a small town thing, but it worked really well.

» pushliteracy_flk - Basket Auction

The Oklahoma Literacy Coalition holds an annual Basket Auction at their state conference. Each member organization is asked to bring a unique basket of goodies or treats wrapped in clear plastic. It is labeled and valued by the donors. The auction takes place at the Friday night Dessert Reception, both live and silently.

Basket Ideas: Baked Goods, Chocolate Lovers, Quilters, Everything (color) Basket, Kitchen, Kids, Birthday, Craft, Herb, Luxury, Aromatherapy, Your Town's Specialty, Tea or Coffee or think up your own idea for an assortment of treats or goodies. The only limits are the size of the basket and your imagination.

» merlochy - Thank you

I would like to thank everyone who has shared fundraising ideas, and encourage more people to do the same. For nonprofits to be able to generate money for themselves (instead of through grants) is becoming more and more important every day.

While your organization's fundraising technique may be unique in your area, there is no reason why other nonprofits across the country cannot use it.

Please help each other help our causes by continuing to share ideas.

Thank you!
