» Tranquility - Wonderful Topic

Hi Carol,

Welcome to The Suite. I am looking forward to reading more of your articles. I, too, believe in the importance of vitamins and minerals if needed. My friend took too much iron and was extremely ill, so it is extremely important to talk to the doctor. I took Evening Primrose and just had the worst side effects. It is going to be very interesting learning more about what vitamins do and what each one is for.

Best Wishes.

» cinders - Welcome

Thank you for the welcome. I hope I do justice to the subject. I'm always learning and want to pass on what I learn to others. I have seen it cure a lot of ailments including my own gall bladder. I think it's amazing what vitamins can do.

Again, thank you. smile

Carol

» health - Recent Changes

I'm 53, and a smoker. I decided befor the new year to begin a health regime. Six weeks ago I started taking "Glyco-Lean" a proprietary product offered by Mannatech.

Since 10/25, I've lost 10 ponds (even during holidays), and feel much better overall. I started my Mom (76 yrs. old) using it 3 weeks ago. Down 3 pounds, blood pressure has stabilized, and she says her energy is improving.

This has encouraged me to stop smoking.. I go to the doctor on 1/12, to see what I can do.

» cinders - Vitamins and Doctors

The only trouble I have with asking the doctors is that doctors do not believe in vitamins. Even for children, they think that more than one multi a day will kill them. One time, my kids were sick and I mentioned that I give them one multi (you know, Flinstones or whatever) three times a day (one in the morning, afternoon, and night) cuz they get better faster. The doctor accused me of abusing my children and ODing them on vitamins. Another time I had a bad gall bladder, I was pregnant. They wanted to operate and kill the baby. I wouldn't let them. From the book, Let's Get Well by Adelle Davis, I read about gallbladders and took what it said. I took 2 vitamin C, 2 Vitamin E, 2 vitamin A, 1 Lecithin, 1 Fatty Acid, and 1 vitamin B6. In 15 minutes, the pain was gone and I was better. I would not let them operate. Through the whole pregnancy, I tried to tell the doctor what I did so my I never had another gall bladder attack and he flat out told me I was nuts. But in the meantime, I had a healthy baby and no more gall bladder attacks. So yes, I do believe in asking the doctor, but I wish that more doctors believed.
