» Tina_Coruth - I love the comparison between the seasons! Hi Mary Ellen,I love the comparison you make between the scenery of winter and that of summer! Winter does have it's own beauty, but then part of that is what makes the colors and warmth of summer so welcome. Your descriptions are vivid and inviting! Thank you! I hope you had a lovely Valentine's Day! -- posted by Tina_Coruth » jerrib - What a wonderful journey this has been You begin this leg of your trip with a "moose of another kind" and see a live moose near the end of your train trek. Plus all the beautiful sights in between. This must be a trip of a lifetime. It has certainly been fun on this part of your journey to travel along with you. Love your descriptions.-- posted by jerrib » Renie_Burghardt - Journey into Summer by Train What a dream trip, Mary Ellen. And your photos are fabulous. I love the sunset one, the mountains, well, all of them, really. Thank you for taking us along with your words and pictures. Take care! Renie-- posted by Renie_Burghardt » WildCityWoman57 - Via Rail Accommodations Small? Hoo boy!I went on the economy pass. Just returned last week. I really enjoyed. But I'm glad I didn't shell out the extra loonage for a sleeping room and meals. The sleeping rooms are the size of a bathroom and the beds pull down on the toilet! Ha! You end up having to go out into the public passage for the toilet anyway. I did have one meal in the dining car - it was nice enough. It was the last day of the trek back to Toronto so it was only 12 dollars - it was one of those torte meat things with soup, salad, etc., and a desert which was an apple crumble. I wouldn't put out money for meals though - I'm not the kind to eat three meals a day - I noticed that the people who had bought meals spent a lot of time going and coming from meals - you had to traipse about 4 cars down the line. My pass cost me 469 plus tax (off season) I found it awkward sleeping in the seats, but I would have found it awkward in a sleeping car too. I think if I go again, I'll do it in such a way that I'm getting off to visit more towns on the way - that breaks up the tediousness of trying to sleep. Hope you'll check in at my column for the travel journal I've started there. Carly -- posted by WildCityWoman57
