delightful! Absolutely delightful, both article and photos and garden.

When I first started gardening [in the Town House Garden], I was visited by a lady who lives only one street along and who owns one of the very best gardens in Tasmania. She looked at the garden bed where I had planted a whole mass of "Iceberg" roses that had grown from cuttings from my mother's garden. As the cuttings had all grown rapidly, I couldn't bear not to plant any of them

Judy said to me "I think your long border is marvelous." I was so excited, I couldn't wait for Kees,to get home , I rang him at work "Did you know we have a Long Border? That is what Judy called the Icebergs bed"

Sounds positively Gertrude Jeckyll to have a long border!

I really enjoyed the garden and article, too - love the humor.

article, Carol. I, too, look fine as a virtual garden, but let anyone come to visit and they will see sheer disorganization in my garden. It's a perennial flower garden alright, but after so many deer and slugs and rabbits chewing on it, I sometimes just take a long vacation from it until the urge strikes me to try again. Never know how it will turn out. (Yes I do have the critter-free plant list, but that's no fun!)

But I like my garden. I never know what will pop up and struggle to survive the critters! And when a plant blooms and stays on the vine a while I silently cheer!

Jerri

On my browser the pictures have come out as boxes with that dreaded little cross on the top left hand corner.
it gives an aura of mystery to the story. I get this feeling that I'll never see the garden.
I really love the humour to be found on these pages.
I have finally found some time to get back to the Pink Flamingo painting. People keep asking my where on earth could I posssobliy get an idea like that.
PS I get little yellow blotches come up through my images so I guess the web is unpredictable,
Keep laughing,
Jo

I loved this article too, and tried hard to get Moosie to apply to be an editor - she said she would like to, but I think in the end she was too shy. But the humor is so great - as is the garden!

We all want to see your flamingos when you finish that mural, Jo! At the moment I am off murals and into painting faux Moorish tile on a bland, blank closet door in my pantry - but nevertheless, I am still painting on walls. ;-)

I can't figure out what kind of yellow blotches you are seeing - I just checked and all photos seem quite normal to me.
