In fact, my first short story was a science fiction story about a race of telepathic vampires. I find the many different directions that writers take with their vampire characters fascinating. I enjoy reading about vampires. I enjoy writing about vampires. But I admit I feel no draw toward the world of those who dress the part or claim to be vampires or enjoy drinking blood. If I was given a chance to become a vampire I don't think I would take it, but then I don't believe that vampires are real. Who knows though, I might be wrong.
