Your column points out a fact which I had not thought of: it will be the moderates in the GOP who take the brunt of it.

But don't you foresee a major realignment in both parties, occurring before the next election? Has the "new democrat" proven practical?

Will the liberal wing remain loyal in the face of more of this swing toward the right side of the aisle?
