Yes, it would be very different in many ways. Of course, now everyone in the Army has joined of their own free will, whereas back in World War II most of them were draftees.

Hello Mary,

All the Yank magazines were published in three bound volumes. I'm not sure when, but you might find them in a university library. They are on the shelves here at the University of Nevada, Reno. I took the last volume home to write the article and kept it out for a few weeks after I was finished -- too fascinating to bring back. Thanks for the kind words.
