» Inspired_Writer - Article: The Natal Chart

Well, you did it again! Great article! I learn a little more each time from you! I love your method of explanation...it is so clear and straightforward! My kinda gal! =)

I always felt that it didn't make sense for one to have a chart cast without a birth time either. Afterall, each person's chart is almost like a fingerprint, and it would be like trying to identify a person with only a vague outline of a fingerprint. What does one do when they do not have a birth time on their birth certificate, and their mother doesn't remember what time they were born? This is the case with my husband, and I have tried to "figure it out". I assume an astrologer would try to do the same thing, but have better luck because of their skills.

As always, I really enjoyed your article! I look forward to future ones! Thanks, Nancy!

» Joe_Sramek - I like that metaphor....

about the natal chart being a fingerprint. I suppose that's mainly because the ASC sign, i.e. what sign the "rising sun" is in the moment you're born has a lot to do with a person's personality. I forget where I saw or read this, but by permatating each possible SUN, MOON, and ASC combinations, you get a total of 1,728 outcomes, thus, 1,728 different basic personality types... I don't know if I would agree with this entirely, but it is an interesting concept....

Another thing that I experienced firsthand shows how important the exact moment of birth is. I downloaded a shareware astrology program that Nancy recommended a while back and preceded to have my chart cast and interpreted. I preceded to key in the exact moment of birth, but I got a result totally erroneous, i.e. instead of my ASC being in Virgo, which I checked via Astrodienst, the program had it in Cancer or Gemini. In either case, what they were saying about my basic personality profile was totally wrong. The reason why: it was doing everything according to London time, so I had to add 5 hrs to my time to get the proper result....

One further observation and then I'll stop... I suppose the reason why twins sometimes have different personalities, is because their ASC's are different, due to one being born an hour earlier than the other, etc. Is this true?

» RevNancyLeigh - Hi

Thanks guys...

Cyndy, Like I put in the article, some astrologers will rectify the birth time...my own chart I had to rectify! My mom said...Oh...I was drugged...sometime between 11 and 11:30...

This had me in astrology hell for a long time!*lol*

BUT...I was hit by a car as a child, and knew the time within 10 minutes of the event, which helped...so I got closer...and then after learning astrology to a degree that I have a feeling for it, and knowing myself pretty well, I was able to reach a minute I am positive is accurate.

The thing with rectification is that it is a long and involved process, and usually costly to have done, as the astrologer has to spend hours upon hours doing it...and without knowing the person well (especially without being able to observe them face to face) and especially if there is no time of a major life event it is very hard...

When I gave birth, the first thing I did when she came out was look at the clock and told the doctor what to write down!@! *lol* wasn't going to miss my Daughter's birth time for anything!

Joe...

Well, if you take into consideration that there are 8 planets used, the Sun and Moon, Chiron, some astrologers use several asteroids, some use the fixed stars...we are talking more than 1,700 variables here...Mercury, venus, and Mars can often have a great impact on the way a person acts...there are conjuctions and other aspects to the popular"big 3" that would have to be taken into consideration for expression for personality!!

The only way that one person's chart could be exact to someone elses is if the were born in the same hospital in the same exact minute! This does happen every now and then, and there have been incredible studies on astrological twins...I have read somewhere that two men were born in this situation, they married two different women with the same name, had the same number and sex of children, held similar careers, and died of similar dieseases within a week of eachother.

As for twins...yes, the biggest difference is in opposite gender twins because of the fact that they will have a different experience with how the symbols manifest due to being treated different because of gender. Most imporatantly, the clock is always ticking...childern born even minutes apart can have a different asc, a planet could have changed signs, the moon could have gone void of course, a planet could have gone retrograde...and number of things could take place in minutes...also, even just the degrees on the houses change, and therefor degrees of aspect to the angels change...one might begin an applying aspect to the ASC or MC..one may have been in a departing aspect and the next one was born out of the orb...plenty of differences between twins...even just minutes apart!

Blessings,
