» Tara98 - I cant believe people ask those questions Some of the questions You answered I was curious about but do twins share boyfriends/girlfriends I find this very funny I'm not a twin but I recently become very interested in twins as I am doing my junior cert project and in the search for information on twins stumbled across this site i have got in touch with carrie and she has been a major help. I feel when reading your article that people seem to forget that twins are not a freak of nature they are humans and are very special each individual as many twins have same qualities in my studies I have found that twins are very much different than the other twin and have very individual personalities. I would like to compliment you on your article and if you wouldn't mind I would like to contact you via e-mail for information on the types of twin and the attitude people have towards you please e-mail me back I'm a third year student in Ireland. Thanks again please reply to me at sheila2000_0509@yahoo.com-- posted by Tara98 » agolda - friends dislike my twin I'm an identical twin, 34 years old (musician and filmmaker in NYC) who has found a phenomenon that I wanted to find out if it's common with other twins, and I don't know where to turn! What I've found, the more my life is separate from my brother's, is that good friends of mine who meet him always tell me they think he's aloof, mean, or hostile. Good friends of his say the same about me. And yet I have nothing but good feelings for his friends, and he loves my friends, even though some of them downright hate him. It's problematic now that my brother and I are spending more time together. What I theorize is that people expect a twin of their friend to automatically know and understand them, and when they see a stranger in his eyes, the thought is so confusing and intolerable that they assume the twin is "mean" or "aloof". It's a real problem because nobody realizes what's happening. Have you found this? Do you know twin-focused psychologists who I could talk with about this? Or read any articles on the subject? -- posted by agolda
